Sugarbooger Laminated Lunch Sack Review

I got this lunchbag for my 5-year-old son and we were both so thrilled with it! The monster design is perfect for a kindergartener; not too "little kid" but still innocently scary. The bag itself is very well made and sturdy. I can fit in a large LunchBots, sandwich, and cooler pack with room to spare. I plan on getting the matching accessories (sandwich pack, and 2 snack packs) to go with it, and getting a set for my daughter, too. Okay, and maybe myself!

Goodbyn Lunchbox Review

Goodbyn Lunchbox
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I bought two of these for my twin pre-school boys. First, the good - they are rugged, they do not leak if they are closed properly, there is PLENTY of room inside, and the sticker decorations don't fall off in the dishwasher. The bad - the narrow bottle inside easily tips and spills, and the bottle inside has no confirmation that the snap lock top is actually closed. The worst of all, I'd say, is that the lid to the whole lunch box is so very hard to snap on, that my children can't do it themselves. My pre-school frowns on this, first because the school fosters independence, and second, because the teachers don't have time to deal with it. Even with a lesson from Mom on how to press the inner ribs first, the teachers cannot get the lid on completely. And, the school has a policy of sending home leftovers so that the parents know what the child ate / didn't eat. That means that I can only send dry and semi-dry food for lunch, because if they don't eat it all, it's not a disaster when it falls out of the Goodbyn onto their cubby, shoes, coats, etc. Presentation also suffers a bit when the box is filled flat, but carried upright. My kids lovely little sandwich triangles end up in a messy pile at the bottom of one of the compartments. Lastly, I would confirm that there is no way to keep hot foods hot, because the container has no insulation.I WOULD recommend this to an adult who wants to be "green" and take salads, fruit, bread, and yogurt to work. I would not recommend it for a young child, or even an older one who might be in too big a hurry to do a good job closing it.

Sugar Booger Classic Lunch Sack Review

I purchased this lunch bag for my daughter and I thought it was adorable, but after two weeks of use mold grew between the lining of the bag. I was washing the bag out daily with a paper towel and 7th generation cleaning spray. I contacted the company and they said I should only have used a dry cloth because the care instructions say "wipe clean". Their customer service was very poor and they basically said I ruined the bag because I used liquid to clean it. So if you want a bag that you can keep clean and sanitarty this isn't the one!

Fleurville Lunch Buddy Review

Fleurville Lunch Buddy

I purchased the olive/camo version for my preschooler, to replace another lunchbox. I wanted a basic lunch bag that was PVC free. This is PVC free, but it had a very strong vinyl odor when I received it. I'm not sure if there is some sort of chemical or plastic coating in the interior or what, but I had to outgas (and rinse) the bag in our garage for 4 days before I felt comfortable using it as a lunch bag. It is a small bag; it fits my son's Eco Lunchbox, a small apple and Foogo straw sippy, but not much else. I do really appreciate the outer compartment and the fact there is a shoulder strap. However, the strange odor combined with the smallness of this bag make it difficult to recommend without reservations. Probably best for younger kids (preschool through 3rd grade). I would also like Fleurville to provide reassurance that the bag is lead and phthalate free too.

Built Neoprene Tasty Lunch Tote Review

Built Neoprene Tasty Lunch Tote

My husband used to bring his lunch to work in plastic grocery bags with old leaky ice packs in them. Not only was this wasteful because he'd have to throw the bag away after the ice pack leaked in it, but he'd threaten the lives of our glass food containers with every occasional drop of the bag, or accidental slam against a door frame.
Now he takes his lunch in this Tasty Tote, and even without an ice pack it stays cold for the two hours or so between our fridge at home and the fridge at work. The amount of insulation fits his daily need, and also provides some cushioning for bumps incurred on the commuter bus! When we take this Tote on car trips, we slip an ice pack in there and our snacks stay cool for several hours!
I love that we can just wash this tote if anything should ever leak, and it seems to be built very sturdily. I'm not suspicious of it breaking anytime soon.
Regarding the style, my husband is the type of manly man where anything TOO stylish is not his style. But this simple, sleek, well-built design is appealing to him, and I personally like that he looks much more professional carrying this into work than plastic grocery sacks. :-)

Slightly smaller than Built's iconic Relish, the stylish, reusable and insulated Built Tasty Lunch Tote in black is a great choice for bringing lunch from home to work or school. Featuring a large zippered opening and generously sized soft-grip handles, this insulated lunch bag is made from durable neoprene (the same material used for wetsuits) with no vinyl or PVC, and it keeps food warm or cold for up to 4 hours (depending on external temperatures). It stands upright for easy packing and flattens down like a paper bag for easy storage. Other features include an easy grip handle and zippered closure. The Tasty measures 12 by 10-1/2 by 5-3/4 inches (WxHxD). Machine wash cold and let drip dry.

JL Childress MaxiCOOL 4 Bottle Cooler, Black Review

JL Childress MaxiCOOL 4 Bottle Cooler, Black

I like the bag, but you can't zip it with 8 oz. Brown's bottles in it. I need to take 3 bottles and 2 baby foods to daycare, and that will not remotely make it in this bag. However, the bag is narrow too, which is great for carrying the small medela bottles that you pump milk into which have a tendency to leak.

Sugarbooger Classic Lunch Sack Review

We got 2 of these for our twins b/c we loved the patterns, size, and price. However, within a few weeks of using them, they got gross brown mold between the liner and the outside. You can't clean it, so the bag gets permanently ruined. We tried hard to keep them clean and dry, but the mold quickly grew over all the seams and has spread to over half of the bags, so we have to throw them out. These bags would probably be fine if you only used dry goods in them, but any kind of moisture (like from an ice pack, leaky container, or condensation from a bottle) will ruin them, even if you try to keep them dry between uses.
We are pretty disappointed and won't be buying anything from Sugarbooger anytime soon.
